55) Studio Tour…
As mentioned in a previous post, our house has gone through a number of changes in the twenty plus years we’ve lived in it. I‘ve always had a dedicated studio room, but it’s moved from one space to another at least three times. My current studio office is smaller, but adequate for my needs.
Also, I‘ve been trying to thin my various collections, unload items that don’t hold my interest anymore. Yes, I’ve gone the Marie Kondo route, but the road is bumpy. Some items shouldn’t be trashed and finding them a new home is challenging. I have thousands of comic books looking for an appreciative new owner. Any offers? I’ve considered eBay, but I’m not sure it would be worth the aggravation. If I could find a solid, trustworthy organization, I would donate the whole lot.
I still usually do first drafts of my writing and drawing with pen on paper, but any subsequent work get rewritten or scanned and reworked on a computer. I presently have two iMacs because the older, slower computer can handle some great apps that the faster, more powerful iMac cannot utilize. Of all the Apple products I own, I think the iPad Pro is the best, most useful device for my work. I like having a standing desk - and with a tall office chair I can occasionally sit without having to adjust the desktop height.
The couches in my office are very comfortable, but the only reason I have them eating up floor space is that they are too big and cumbersome to move to other location. How we got them in the room in the first place is a mystery.
