Early in my career I worked on the animated Sabrina, the teenage witch, at Filmation Studios. It was innocent enough nonsense, reminiscent of the the kind of humor in the 1942 film, I Married a Witch or its television successor, Bewitched. The television live action version of Sabrina (1996 to 2003) carried on in that tradition. The newest version on Netflix, however, is a pretty ghastly affair. All the actors do a commendable job, but the storyline is dreadful, dark and evil.
