My daughter Emily has released a new song under her Mountainess moniker. In addition, you can read a wonderful interview with her at https://www.audiofemme.com/premiere-mountainess-soundtrack/

Second…

A number of years ago I met a cartoonist I greatly admire at the National Cartoonists Society Annual Reubens Award Weekend. Norm Feuti was the artist behind RETAIL, a funny and well drawn strip that I considered one of the smartest features on the comics page. At the time I met him, he was working on developing a new comic strip titled GILL, which centered on the life of a boy living with his divorced mother. What was so appealing about Gill was that he was just an average kid from a lower income household, a little rotund, and not wise cracking or too clever for his own good. Norm kindly gifted me the development strip posted above.

GILL (renamed Gil) was nationally syndicated for a short time, but now only appears on Sundays in The Providence Journal and online at Gocomics.com. Norm retired RETAIL early last year so he could focus on his growing list of children’s books; King of Kazoo, Hello, Hedgehog (series), and Beak and Ally.
