If you have any longevity in the animation industry, it is not uncommon that you will work on some projects that are failures.

One such (out of many) that I worked on was Sammy, based on the humor of David Spade, inspired by his relationship with his own father.

Despite having a great production crew, the resulting product was deemed extremely bad by the test audiences. Only two episodes out of thirteen were ever broadcast before it was pulled by NBC. Ultimately, a skilled production team cannot turn mediocre scripts and unlikeable characters into a good series.
