183) He-Man, yet again…

Having worked on Filmation’s original He-Man and She-Ra series over thirty years ago, I’m always a bit curious when a new version of the characters appear.

On the heels of Netflix’s Masters of the Universe: Revelation produced by Kevin Smith, Netflix has released yet another interpretation of He-Man. This time it’s a CGI reinvention that is respectful of the mythos, but tweaks it in a way that is quite entertaining. It is obviously geared to a younger audience than Revelations (which is dark and rather depressing), but the new series can be enjoyed by all ages. Though CGI productions are often very plastic looking, this series’ artistic design is engaging and the storytelling is solid and well paced.
