As hairs are abandoning my pate, they are now going where they’ve never gone before. I have found myself, at times, turning into a hobbit. For the majority of my life I’ve never had hair growing on my ears and long hairs jutting out of my nose. And despite attentive grooming, it sometimes feels like the hairs just suddenly appear overnight, as if by magic. It’s the dark magic of getting old.
