I often sample the animation offerings on the various streaming platforms. Many leave me unimpressed and some are just awful.

Netflix is currently streaming Arcane and I think it’s sensational. I’m not a gamer, so I was unfamiliar with the online game League of Legends, but this spinoff is captivating and beautifully rendered. The design, staging and character acting are among the best I‘ve ever seen. Arcane made me wish that superhero films were done in this kind of style. The only other animated feature that I feel has excelled in a similar manner of creativity is Spider-Man: Into the Spider-verse.
