The Dropouts 10-10-1971 by Howard Post

Howard Post (1926-2010) was a very versatile cartoonist who worked in animation, comic books and comic strips. The Dropouts ran from 1968 to 1981. The main characters, Alf and Sandy, were castaways on an island that was not deserted, but home to an array of quirky personalities.

Post did a lot of comic book work, mostly on the humorous and wacky characters for various publishers. he is best remembered for his volume of work for Harvey Comics, such as Hot Stuff, Spooky and Wendy the Good Little Witch.

The fifty-year-old strip pictured above is still pertinent in today’s political climate.
