the small society by Morris Brickman 6-15-1983

Morris Brickman’s the small society (always lower case) ran from 1966 to 1999. It was a humorous response to The Great Society envisioned by President Johnson, focusing on the little lives of average Americans, Mensch and Shirl. Brickman retired in 1985, handing the strip off to Bill Yates, who assisted a number of other cartoonists as well as fronting his own strip, Professor Phumble.
