209) Ramona Fradon…

I first discovered Ramona Fradon’s work long ago when she drew Aquaman as a backup feature in DC’s Adventure Comics. She went on to co-create Metamorpho, draw the SuperFriends, and had a stint as the artist for the syndicated Brenda Starr comic strip. She imbues her work with a unique style that has made her one of my all time favorite comic book artists. She’s made a great contribution to an industry that was dominated by men.

I had the good fortune to meet her some years ago at Comic-Con, where she kindly autographed the original illustration posted above.
