Humorist Milt Gross (1895-1953) was an accomplished cartoonist, animator, columnist, scriptwriter, and author. Influenced by his Jewish background, Gross inserted a lot of Yinglish (a fusion of Yiddish and English) into his wildly manic and exaggerated drawing style.

The Complete Milt Gross Comic Books and Life Story by Craig Yoe excellently outlines the career and accomplishments of this outstanding creator.

And here are the two animated cartoons that Gross directed for the MGM Animation Studio. They show some of the frenzied, nonsensical bent of the Gross style, but, unfortunately, also display some of the racism common to that era.
