295) Trudy…

Original Trudy by Jerry Marcus 7-15-1968

Many of the comic strip creators of the post World War 2 era came from a background of magazine gag cartoonists. Jerry Marcus (1924-2005) had been a constant contributor to magazines such as The Saturday Evening Post, The New Yorker and Look when he created Trudy for The King Features Syndicate in 1963.

Trudy was the quintessential homemaker who managed house, husband, son and family pet. The humor was gentle, the drawing style was loose and charmingly primitive. The strip ran until 2005.
