Triple Take by Todd Clark (writer) and Scott Nickel (artist/writer) was a unique comic strip, distributed by King Features, that debuted in 2005.

Unlike other comic strips, it offered three punchlines for each daily offering.

As Scott Nickel commented in a 2005 press release: “We get three chances to make the reader laugh. If we’re successful at least two out of three times, we have a better batting average than most major league players. And we do it without steroids! Everything is fair game, pop culture, history, everyday life…we pull inspiration from everywhere. And with no regular cast of ch, the range of subjects can span anywhere from aliens to pirates, or even alien pirates.”

Despite some clever jokes and Nickel’s appealing cartoon style, the feature didn’t maintain enough of a following and was cancelled in 2007.
