Ask Shagg was a novelty comic strip by Peter Guren that ran from 1980 to 2020. Shagg E. Dawg was the host of the strip who answered reader submitted questions concerning animal facts and behaviors. Other regular characters included Rosko the cat, Mouth the myna bird, and Slippy the flying squirrel. Cartoonist Guren received thousands of questions a year, mostly from children. If the question was used in a strip, the reader who submitted the question was sent a free Shagg plush doll.
