257) Everett Peck…

I was sad to hear about the death of Everett Peck (1950-2022). He was a talented writer, illustrator, cartoonist and animator who is probably best known as the creator of the animated series Duckman, which ran on the USA Network, and Squirrel Boy, which ran on the Cartoon Network. In addition, his unique style appeared in advertisements, comic books, magazines…across many media platforms.

I never met him, but greatly admired his vast talent. About thirty-plus years ago Peck created some illustrations for a project I had written in partnership with my friend Jim Keeshen. Somehow Jim had convinced Peck to take on the project, but, alas, it never found a sponsor.

Posted here are some of the illustrations Peck did for Clifford & Shemp, the story of private detective Clifford who swaps brains with his dog Shemp. Peck supplied the initial drawings, but the color was added later.
