Loose Parts, a single panel daily comic strip by Dave Blazek, launched in 1998. Often compared to Gary Larson’s Far Side, it has found its own niche amongst comic art fans. Blazek originally wrote the panels with John Gilpin doing the artwork. After a year of syndication Gilpin had to bow out due to ill health, so Blazek taught himself how to draw. The feature won the prestigious Reuben Award from the National Cartoonists Society for best newspaper panel in 2019 & 2020.
