353) Bill Rechin…

Original E. Pluribus by Bill Rechin 9-14-?

Bill Rechin, co-creator of comic strips Crock and Out of Bounds, also created a little remembered strip called E. Pluribus. E. Pluribus was a political satire comic strip that was syndicated from 1974 to 1982.

The strip E. Pluribus offered a humorous take on American politics and social issues, featuring a diverse cast of characters engaging in satirical commentary. The strip received positive recognition for its wit and clever observations during its run.

Before E. Pluribus Bill Rechin was involved in other comic projects. He co-created a comic strip called Out of Bounds with Herb Galewitz, which ran from 1968 to 1974. Out of Bounds centered around the humorous misadventures of a group of young athletes.

Bill Rechin was best known for his comic strip Crock. The strip, which he co-created with Don Wilder, was first published in 1975 and depicted humorous and satirical scenarios set in a fictional French Foreign Legion outpost. Bill Rechin's witty and entertaining style made Crock a popular and enduring comic strip for many years. He continued working on the strip until his passing in 2011.

The comic strip was continued by Bill Rechin's son, Kevin Rechin, who took over the creative responsibilities after Bill Rechin's passing to keep the comic strip alive and honor its legacy. This continuation, however, only lasted a year. The strips currently appearing in newspapers and online are reruns.

In addition to his comic strips, Bill Rechin also contributed to the world of cartoons and humor through various illustrations and gags for magazines and books. His work showcased his talent for humor and cartooning, making him a well-respected figure in the cartooning community.
