Eric Ericson (1914-1959) was a magazine and newspaper cartoonist who also wrote for radio and television. He contributed to most of the leading magazines of his time, including Collier’s, The New Yorker and The Saturday Evening Post.

While he was a longtime staff artist for King Features Syndicate, he only produced one comic strip, the short lived and obscure Herkimer Fuddle, which only lasted four months.

In 1943 Ericson began producing a weekly feature for Liberty Magazine titled The Grounded Gremlin, which depicted the mythical creature wreaking havoc on civilians.
