Posted above is a snapshot of my Pogo figurines. Each character came with various Proctor & Gamble products as part of a promotion for The Pogo Birthday Special that aired in 1969 on NBC. It is said that Walt Kelly was happier with the figurines than with the animated special, due to director Chuck Jones’s tendency to make everything too cute. Kelly personally sculpted the original models for each figurine.
