15) Gahan Wilson…

I met Gahan Wilson at a science fiction convention in the late sixties, where he kindly autographed this page in my program book.

Twenty five years later I was the storyboard supervisor on the animated version of “Gahan Wilson’s The Diner.” I know he visited the studio while it was in production, but I missed meeting him again. I think the project came out pretty nicely considering that we were building a story from Wilson’s concept sketches, which suggested a thematic approach and vague storyline, but was devoid of continuity.

I’ve always admired his dark humor and drawing style. I was very pleased to acquire an original drawing by this master cartoonist a few years back. Sadly, Gahan Wilson passed away last year.
