T.S. Sullivant (1854-1926) was a great American cartoonist whose work appeared in a variety of magazines of his era. His work was an inspiration to generations of cartoonists who followed him, including Walt Disney and Walt Kelly.
I don’t think Sullivant is widely known or appreciated today, but perhaps that will change with the publication A Cockeyed Menagerie from Fantagraphics Books, due out in November 2020. Here’s a small sampling of some of his work…
