Unicorns have always been a popular iconic character of fantasy, appearing in a multitude of stories and artwork. If you look for unicorn books on Amazon, you’ll find pages and pages of listings. One of my favorite unicorns right now (aside from my own Cornelia in The Mythfits), is Marigold Heavenly Nostrils, appearing in comic strip and books as Phoebe and her Unicorn by Dana Simpson (danasimpson.com). Marigold is a fun and imaginative companion to nine year old Phoebe, taking her on wild adventures that are often quite thought provoking as well as humorous. Congratulations to Dana Simpson for creating this enduring and endearing interpretation of the unicorn myth. I was delighted to read that Nickelodeon has interest in bringing Phoebe and Marigold to television and movie projects.
