109) Superman…

The picture posted above sat at the bottom of a storage trunk for most of my childhood. It’s a little beat up and possibly altered, but it’s still an interesting piece.

It was originally drawn for my brother Len, probably at some promotional appearance in Cleveland, signed by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster, sometime around 1940. Many years later my brother, knowing my love for the character, gifted the drawing to me.

On the heels of my last post about Batman and his many interpretations, I watched the premiere of Superman and Lois on the CW. I have some mixed feelings about this incarnation of the Man of Steel, but I ultimately enjoyed show and thought it was well produced. While certainly not how I envisioned the characters, Tyler Hoechlin and Bitsie Tulloch do a commendable job in the lead roles. The CW/DC shows are always a bizarre mixture of good entertainment and cringe worthy cheesiness. Legends of Tomorrow is a guilty pleasure of mine because it feels like the whole production company has embraced the ridiculous nature of the show.
