138) Stuff…

I gave up collecting comic books when DC introduced “The New 52” about ten years ago. I found that particular retelling of some of my favorite characters to be such a hot mess that it cured me from my comic book addiction...a habit I had been supporting for quite some time.

For the last week or so I have been working on cataloging the thousands of comics that I have acquired. Some are worth selling on eBay, but most are not worth the effort because the back issues market is flat. I hope to donate the bulk of the collection, but haven’t yet determined what organization will take them. I find, as I sort through them, that I’ve adopted the Marie Kondo approach; I keep comics that spark joy and ditch the rest. I’m giving up some very fine material, but, really, what’s the point of hanging on to stuff I’ll never revisit? Contact me if you are interested in receiving a list of what comic books are available for sale or trade.

We had a visitor on our roof yesterday. It’s really a beautiful bird, but its squawk is quite disruptive. We were eventually able to coax it off the roof, but then it perched on the fence for awhile.  Later I herded it out the gate.

It was last seen strolling down the street.
