Cartoonists Edwina Dumm, Hilda Terry, and Barbara Shermund we’re the first women inducted into the National Cartoonists Society in 1950.

Ms. Dumm was best known for her comic strips Cap Stubbs and Tippie (1918-1966) and Alec the Great (1931-1969). She was also one of the first full time female political cartoonists.
