As of this year, all of Arthur Conan Doyle’s Sherlock Holmes stories are now public domain. In honor of that event I’m posting an illustration done by Mark Hubley and myself for a proposed Holmes Valentines Day animated special that I worked on more than thirty-five years ago. The story outline, titled The Case of the  Doddering Detective, was written by me and Tom Tataranowicz. We never succeeded in placing the project, but looking at it after all these years, I still think it’s kind of cute. Below are the first four pages of the treatment.
