Motley’s Crew, created by Ben Templeton and Tom Forman, launched in 1976. The comic strip centered on Mike Motley, his wife, Mabel, and their extended family, friends and work. It was a typical sitcom comic strip tinged with social commentary. Mike Motley was a middle class, middle aged blue collar worker with a stay-at-home wife.

When Tom Forman died in 1996, Ben Templeton continued the strip on his own until January 1, 2000. While never a superstar of comic strips, it maintained a loyal following during its run.
