Howie Schneider (1930-2007) was a cartoonist and children’s book author. His comic strip creations included Percy’s World, The Circus of P.T.Bimbo, and Eek & Meek.

Eek & Meek was his most popular strip, running from 1965 to 2000. One weird aspect of this long running strip was that the characters were originally mice, but in 1982 they morphed in humans.

Eek was a rough drunk of a character who sported a bowler hat and stubbly beard. Meek, as the name suggests, was the timid sidekick.
