I suspect that Sam Hill (Retired) posted above was a sample for a  proposed comic strip by cartoonist Dave Gerard. I could find no reference to it in any of my research, leading me to surmise that it was never picked up as a regular feature. Gerard (1909-2003) contributed cartoons to a number of magazines, such as The Saturday Evening Post and Collier’s Weekly, and had some success with his comic strip Will-Yum, which ran from 1953 to 1966. He also created the comic strips Viewpoint and Citizen Smith.
