Original Fish ‘n Quips by Milt Story date unknown

I had no idea who Milt Story was when I added the Fish ‘n Quips art to my original comic art collection many years ago. I got the piece because I thought it was very nicely rendered and the joke was charming, though not hilarious. Attempts to discover more about the cartoonist and his work proved futile. While my initial research was prior to the internet explosion, the search engines of today still offer damned little information about this talented cartoonist. I think Fish ‘n Quips was probably a sample strip that Story created in hopes of landing a syndicate deal. Though Story never succeeded in fulfilling his dream of syndication, I’m glad he found success as The Silly Sign Man.
